What you need
- A Ghost publication (self-hosted or Ghost Pro)
- A PayGlue account
- An account with a supported payment provider (Polar, Lemon Squeezy, PayPal, Paddle, Gumroad, Ko-fi, Creem, or Patreon)
What is PayGlue?
PayGlue connects Ghost memberships to payment providers like Polar, Lemon Squeezy, PayPal, Paddle, Gumroad, Ko-fi, Creem, and Patreon. When a customer completes a purchase, PayGlue automatically creates or updates their Ghost membership.Do I need a Stripe account?
Ghost wants Stripe connected for its built-in membership features, and PayGlue works either way. With Stripe connected, PayGlue runs alongside it. Your existing Stripe subscriptions keep running, your customers pay through whichever provider you chose, and PayGlue marks the resulting members as comped so Ghost treats them as paid. Without a Stripe account, which is the case when Stripe does not operate in your country, PayGlue records access with a label on the member and the paywall script checks that label instead of Ghost’s own gating.Which payment providers are supported?
Polar, Lemon Squeezy, PayPal, Paddle, Gumroad, Ko-fi, Creem, and Patreon are live. Stripe and Mollie are coming soon.Is my data safe?
Yes. All credentials are encrypted at rest and PayGlue operates on EU infrastructure. See Security overview.Steps
