# Welcome emails

> Configure which email Ghost sends when a member is created via PayGlue.

## Email types

When PayGlue creates a Ghost member, it can trigger Ghost to send a welcome email. You choose the email type when configuring a Buy Button, Paywall, or Pricing Table item.

| Type                            | When to use                                             |
| ------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| Magic link (`signin`)           | Recommended. Sends a login link. Works for all members. |
| Free welcome (`subscribe`)      | For free-tier members.                                  |
| Paid welcome (`paid-subscribe`) | For paid-tier members.                                  |

## How to configure

When creating or editing a **Buy Button**, **Paywall**, or **Pricing Table** item in your PayGlue dashboard, select the email type under **Welcome email**. The default is **Magic link**.

  Ghost sends emails from your publication's configured email address. Make sure your email settings are correct in Ghost Admin.
